DCKS is blessed to have a vibrant ministry for children, right from toddlers to high scholars. The children are divided into 8 classes based on age. Six of these classes (Gift, Joy, Peace, United, Teens and High Scholars) meet for Sunday School during the English service. The other two classes (Imani and Wasafi) meet during the Swahili service.
We are grateful for the team of dedicated teachers who teach in rotation on different Sundays. This team has grown greatly in number and organization over the past couple of years; praise God! We would like to have a bigger team so that the children can be effectively ministered to. You are welcome to plug in by registering to be a teacher or class helper.
Apart from Sunday School, JCM (Junior Church Ministry) runs other programs, the biggest of which is the annual Vacation Bible School (VBS). This year, we are looking forward to a Cave Quest Adventure, where we will learn about Following Jesus, the Light of the World. Karibu to attend and assist this August!
We have youthful annual camps or conventions for the teenagers. These are tailored to teach them about Christianity in an exciting and relevant way.
Graceful Transition to Adulthood (GTA) is an experiential learning program that seeks to deliberately mentor children in their final year of primary school (e.g. Std 8), laying a Christ-like foundation as they prepare to join high school.
Watch out for GEMS and BEMS (Girls / Boys Everywhere Meeting the Savior) Bible clubs which are coming up soon!!
We dearly need help from church attendees towards making VBS a success. Kindly REGISTER to assist in various capacities, from music, to teaching Bible stories, to serving snacks, to cleaning, preparing crafts and facilitating games. There’s a slot for everybody to help
